Mindful Heart

Meditation and Mantra

About Sasha

Sasha was first taught meditation as a child by her mother, and attended her first meditation retreat in 1995 at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery  Sasha values richness of different meditation teachings and has attended retreats in the traditions of Theravada Forest Monasteries, Thich Nhat Hahn, Vipassana, Triratna, and Insight Meditation.

Mindfulness through mantra

Chanting and singing mantras has also been a thread in Sasha's practice.  Since having a family meditating quietly on a cushion has not always been easy!  Singing mantras has since become an integral part of her practice.

Sasha attended an Introduction to leading kirtan course with Nikki Slade, in February 2023 and has completed a learn to lead kirtan course with Gratia Churchill in October 2023.

Sasha also loves the practice of Kirtan which is often uplifting and joyful.

After attending a creative singing  in nature with Martha Tilston and Andy Raingold, in 2019, Sasha has been inspired to compose her own mantra renditions.  Some of which she shares during classes and retreats.

Sasha is passionate mindfulness through mantra and meditation and helping others to access them through classes and retreats.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Sasha qualified as a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy teacher from Sussex Mindfulness Centre, a leader training centre in England.  In 2021 she completed a 30-hour Meditation Teacher Training with Martin Aylward, a highly respected and experienced teacher based at Moulin de Chaves meditation centre in France.  She has also completed a Paws B Mindfulness teacher training to teach children.  Sasha is also a qualified Art Therapist and has facilitated a Mindfulness informed Art Therapy group for young people.

Sasha is passionate about mindfulness and meditation. She was one of the founders  of Bodhi Tree Brighton, a Buddhist charity that supports meditation practice from many Buddhist and secular traditions.  Between 2009-2015 she held Trustee, Programme Manager and group facilitator roles.

Sasha’s spiritual home is within the Theravada Forest Buddhist tradition, and she also feels a deep affinity to the Interbeing Practice of the late Vietnamese teacher Thich Nhat Hanh.  Sasha took the Mindfuness Trainings with Thich Nhat Hahn in 2014.

"You are such a special teacher and I am so pleased to have been introduced to you.  I would love to come to your next class already!" Kelly
